Congratulations to Kayla Graven of Downtown Springfield Inc. on winning the CILCSA “WOW Award” for extraordinary service to the community! Kayla was nominated for her outstanding efforts with the Old Capitol Farmers Market and for handling difficult situations with respect, fairness and above all great customer service. Her nominator wrote, “Kayla’s calm reaction to this encounter was one to be admired and gave me a new appreciation for our essential workers.”

By recognizing those who make a difference in our lives, we are challenged to think about how we can do the same for others. It’s often not even what we do, but how we do it. Together, one personal encounter at time, me can make our Springfield a happier place to be. A place where people feel respected, included, and welcomed. A place full of hope and smiles.

Congratulations to Tracy Dowell, owner of Springfield Running Center, for her induction into the Springfield Road Runners Club Hall of Fame. This organization is comprised of many area leaders that promote running as a way to give back to the community. As a small business owner, and advocate for youth and women in sports & business, Tracy’s commitment to customer service is demonstrated in everything she does. We are fortunate to have her on CILCSA’s Board of Directors as a representative of small business, retail, and the importance of great customer service. Cheers to Tracy!!!

Distributing Meals to Families in Need
Thank you Nelson’s Catering & Fundraising & the Crowne Plaza Springfield – Convention Center for helping CILCSA distribute 300 meals to families in need in our community!

Laurie Guest is a dynamic customer service keynote speaker, trainer and author. She discussed customer service, staff development and improving customer engagement. Laurie blended real-life examples, proven action steps, practical advice and takeaways in her engaging and entertaining keynote address!
Panel of Experts
A huge thank you goes out to Jim Britton, Chris Butler and Mike Pence for serving as our Panel of Experts. The discussion, titled “What Keeps You Up at Night?”, covered everything from attracting and keeping good employees to providing good customer service with a lot of good business advice in between.
Tailgate Party of the Year!
Tons of people turned out for a fun-filled tailgate party at the Route 66 Drive In. Tailgates were transformed into parties complete with decorations, grills, food and beverages as CILCSA members brought their family and friends to celebrate at the Route 66 Drive In.
